Over the last few years, global cashew nut production and trade have gained a strong and important growth. In many regions, sizable cashew production and processing establishments have been set up. Cashew nut market is predicted to be further extended and the average growth in cashew nut production could be at 7.2% per year in period 2005 – 2010 (USAID, 2006; MARD, 2006). In 2010, it is estimated that about 409,000 tons of kernel cashew will be marketed mainly in such countries as America, India, China, Canada and EU. The increase in organic cashew consumption is also expected to be at 20% per year.
