To assist businesses, artisan and craft villages in introducing and advertising their products to domestic and international consumers and on the occasion of the weekly craft village exhibition in 2007 organized by Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) (14-18/11/2007), Information Center for Agriculture and Rural Development (AGROINFOR) of IPSARD is conducting A SPECIAL ASSISTANCE WEEK under which help will be provided to enterprises and village artisan to access market information, design website and introduce products.
In the evening of 14 November, 2007, Vietnam’s Craft Village Exhibition was officially opened at Agriculture and Rural Development Exhibition Center (No.2 – Hoang Quoc Viet – Hanoi). After a beautiful drum and firework performance, delegates and visitors visited about 200 product sections of traditional fine-art and agro-forestry and fishery processing villages.

This is the third time the craft village exhibition is organized. At the exhibition, many activities introducing craft villages will be conducted, which include meetings among outstanding artisan, product designing competition, award giving ceremonies for products made in 2007 and flower arrangement demonstrations. In addition, the exhibition also presents a large number of traditional art performances such as water puppet, traditional music, kite releasing, rice cook competition … With a presence of representatives of about ten Japanese enterprises who are in Vietnam to provide advices on product exportation into Japanese market, it is expected that more trade cooperation opportunities be created and more revenues from exportation be obtained by Vietnam’s craft villages.
